Abstract

A commentary on the Tang Code, with focus on the pronunciations and explanations of individual words. It was authored by Cishan shiye zi (此山貰冶子) in the Yuan. Although allegedly composed of 30 juan, it is not big in size, with only one or two pages in some juan, which corresponds to the structure in the Tang Code. Like in Lü Yinyi, its predecessor of the same sort of commentary, the pronunciation of a chosen character is indicated by fanqie and homophone, and most parts of the commentaries deal with pronunciations, while other limited parts cover meanings of words and terms.
