Handbook of Laws of the Chosŏn government. The first fascicle contains ninety-four numbered articles distributed under four main topics, namely civil offices  (yi 吏, 1-9), revenue (ho 戶, 10-27), rituals (ye 禮, 28-73), and military affairs (pyŏng 兵, 74-94). The second fascicle contains seventy-two articles and three supplements under the topics punishments (hyŏng 刑, 1-68) and works (kong 工, 69-72). These extracts or abstracts from the more complete collection of laws, such as the Kyŏngguk taejŏn 經國大典, seem to stress current usage. According to the Asami Library catalogue, the book was compiled after King Chŏngjo 正祖 had died and when Yŏngjo's 英祖 second queen (Kim 金) was alive, or between 1801 and 1805. The Harvard Library website, however, gives the date of ca. 1825.

Modern fac-simile edition: [Seoul] : Pŏpchechʻŏ, 1979.
