CommentRem.:A handbook for pettifoggers concentrating on the categories (lei 類) most useful in a local court, all corresponding to either the part on “Revenue” in the penal code or that on “Punishments”: j. 1 is devoted to “homicides” (人命), “sexual crimes” (姦情); j. 2 deals with , and “theft” (賊情), and “marriage” (婚姻); j. 3 with “property” (田業), “corvée” (戶役), debts (債負); j. 4 with “deceptions” (騙害), “brawls” (斗毆), “succession” (繼立), “certificates” (執照), plus models of declarations (呈狀) and of reports (稟帖). Each page is divided into two horizontal parts. The lower part includes the relevant statutes of the code [not in Qinghua] as well as models of accusations (gao 告) and counter-accusations (su 訴), and judgments (shenyu 審語, or 批語). The upper part, using about one quarter of the page [7 cm sur 18,5 à Qinghua], concentrates upon a series of key notions, often presented in an abstracted form easy to memorize, e.g. a “guide for lawsuits” (susong zhinan 訴訟指南), explanations on the different sorts of theft and homicide, the different degrees of beating, the general categories of the penal code (lüli zonglei 律例總類), and various notions, examples of language (e.g. 分條各項便採新語, with entries corresponding to the various categories of affairs) and terms, and so forth [Qinghua: also numerous examples of complaints and accusations (with judgments), a long text in four-word verse intitled玉石經 and lists of 硃語, and official proclamations]. [vérifier description, ici fait d’après l’ex. à Qinghua]. The materials in the upper part are not directly related to what appears below. The same work also exists under the title Fayu xinnang (q.v.)
Ed.: Undated augmented new  ed. (新刻增補)  in 4 j, with title given as Fajia jingtian lei 法家驚天雷 on cover-leaf (also with the mention “Includes the Great Qing code” nei fu Da Qing lüli 內附大清律例). The title at each j. is Xinke fabi jingtian lei 新刻法筆驚天雷.
