AbstractThis is a collection of questionnaires of the first customs survey in Hubei province. In the preface, the survey Bureau made 14 regulations intended to local surveyors, ended with a pro-format model for the reports, which was created during the reign of Guangxu. This collection is divided into five parts:
1.people’s situation, practices and mores [民情風俗];
2.custom of the organization of the local gentry [紳士辦事習慣];
3.custom of civil affairs [民事習慣];
4.custom of commercial affairs [商事習慣];
5.custom of litigations [訴訟習慣].
At the end of each part, there is a table of contents, which indicate charts, pictures, compacts required in the Bureau instructions.
